Aneesas is one of the first Indian buffets in South Shields, its located just off the large roundabout at Laygate, upstairs in what used to be the old Images Night Club (or for those with a longer memory the old R.A.O.B. club). When you first enter the building your surprised at how big the restaurant is with a large seating area and also a equally large area set aside with many flavours of Indian food to suit all tastes. If I have a night out there I always end up making a couple of trips to the starters table first and get stuck in to tikka chicken and onion bhajis so I never have much room left to try any of the main curries or selection of sweets etc, you can go back as many times as you like and if you go home feeling hungry its your own fault lol. Please note at the time of writing this the restaurant can only serve soft drinks but you are welcome to take your own alcoholic drinks for which they charge a small corkage fee.
