Over the last 20 years or so three out of the last four jobs I have had have all been located in the Laygate area of South Shields so sometimes when you used to get sick of a packed lunch for my dinner as a treat I will call into the Wok Inn for one of their lunch time specials which is normally your meal plus chips all packed in one carton but at a discounted price from what you would normally pay for a meal off the main night time menu, as a rule I always have one of their curry dishes as they are one of the few Chinese takeaways in the town who's curry has a bit of a bite to it not like many other places where the curry has the consistency and taste of a watered down gravy. If you call into the takeaway on a night time you can always pop next door to the Dolly Peel pub for a quick pint while your meal is cooking. Please note at the time of writing this the takeaway is only open on selected afternoons so your better of giving them a phone call first to make sure they are open before making a wasted journey.
